"Remember puss in boots?

well. the artist (gaby moreno,) who wrote and performed "por que te vas" (the last wish,) was the opening performance for los lobos at chico state university's Laxson auditorium last night and she is absolutely mesmerizing! gaby transported the audience through time and space with her impeccable range as we followed her through several different eras and genres~~ Bravo gaby!!

Gaby Moreno Takes the Stage Alongside Los Lobos Since the late 1990s, Gaby Moreno has been inspiring fans with her folksy sound and beautiful vocals. Her sound consists of a mix of blues, Latin, alternative, folk, and Americana, boasting a full sound that has stunned audiences around the world. Her music video “Fuiste Tu” has over 1 billion views on YouTube and was nominated for Record of the Year in 2012. She has toured alongside top artists in various countries and cultures, including Tracy Chapman, The Milk Carton Kids, and more. She is now touring the U.S. with Los Lobos.


Gaby Moreno is a Guatemalan singer-songwriter and guitarist. She was born on December 16, 1981, in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Moreno started playing the guitar and writing songs when she was a teenager, and her music combines elements of Latin American folk, jazz, and blues.


Moreno gained wider recognition in 2006 when she won the Grand Prize at the John Lennon Songwriting Contest with her song "Escondidos." She has since released several albums, including "Still the Unknown" (2008), "Illustrated Songs" (2011), and "Spangled" (2014), which earned her a Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2013.


In addition to her solo career, Moreno has collaborated with various artists and bands, such as Ricardo Arjona, Van Dyke Parks, Hugh Laurie, and Calexico. She has also contributed to soundtracks for movies and TV shows, such as "The Walking Dead" and "Parks and Recreation."
