Funkyipuppets -FIP - collectable Creature Card 002: Silly Rabbit (Usagi)
The Gyokuto Yokai of Laughter, Imagination, and Dimensional Leaps
Origin: The Depths → The Shallows
Form: Aquatic-Sky Rabbit Yokai (Gyokuto)
Affiliation: Senpai Yokai Arts, Rahantis Dojo, General IPC
Background:
Silly Rabbit, originally known as Usagi, was born formless in the Depths before emerging in the Shallows as a mystical Rabbit/Hare yokai. Under the Senpai Yokai arts, he trained alongside Rah and transformed into an aquatic rabbit capable of using his ears as fins to swim and wings to soar.
When the Waterwheel in the Sky turned, causing a dimensional rift, Silly Rabbit leaped through the gap between the floodwaters and the heavens, submerging into the depths to help Rah build the underwater dojo-realm of Rahantis. There, he mastered the Senpai art of dimensional leaping, existing fluidly across elements, realms, and dimensions.
As the intuitive voice and guide for General IPC, Silly Rabbit shaped the poetic, visual, and musical storytelling of Matsu. His ability to uplift spirits with humor and wit made him a beacon of joy, dissolving pain, fear, and negativity to restore balance and imagination.
Powers and Abilities:
• Dimensional Leaping: Effortlessly traverses between water, air, space, and alternate realms, existing simultaneously across dimensions.
• Adaptation and Detachment: Shifts forms and states of being to transform pain into light and limitation into creative potential.
• Humor Alchemy: Channels humor and wit to dissolve negativity, uplift spirits, and activate imagination.
• Intuitive Insight: Unlocks hidden creative frequencies, aligning beings with their inspired, original nature.
• Telepathy and Telekinesis: Connects minds across realms and manipulates matter through vibratory thought.
• Teleportation: Travels instantly through dimensions, time streams, and elemental gateways.
Legacy and Influence:
After the Great Flood caused by the Waterwheel, Silly Rabbit evolved into a Gyokuto yokai, traversing time and space to inspire the origins of art, cartoons, comics, animation, puppetry, and sci-fi/fantasy storytelling.
When Atomikkkan exploded, he shifted into alternate dimensions, preserving his Gyokuto Yokai essence. Resurfacing on Earth as a cartoon-like rabbit, he continued to inspire creators and dreamers while maintaining his connection to the 96542 Yokai Refuge.
Silly Rabbit’s presence influenced generations of visionaries:
• Animation and Comics: Walt Disney, Winsor McCay, Émile Cohl, and Rodolphe Töpffer.
• Puppetry and Film: Will Vinton and J. Stuart Blackton..
• Illustrators and Cartoonists: Charles Schultz, Bill Watterson, Jim Davis, Matt Groening, and Shel Silverstein.
• Modern Creators and Storytellers: Chuck Jones, Bill Plympton, Dr. Seuss, and Gene Roddenberry.
Current Role:
Silly Rabbit serves as the dimensional guide and comedic heart of the 96542 Yokai Refuge. He bridges worlds, igniting imagination, humor, and poetic storytelling across dimensions. As a protector of creative flow, he empowers beings to rediscover their inspired frequencies and imaginative spirit.
Signature Move:
“The Laughing Leap” – Generates bursts of humor and joy that dissolve despair and awaken imagination, creating dimensional portals to new realms of possibility.
Weakness:
Requires inspiration, humor, and creativity to maintain strength. Prolonged exposure to stagnant, humorless, or uninspired environments diminishes his energy and necessitates recharging through art, laughter, or storytelling.
Quote:
“To leap beyond the flood, all you need is laughter and the courage to imagine something new.”
Silly Rabbit speaks to everyone in this day & age!
